Wüsthof Classic series
Robust, sharp and functional – the classic kitchen tool series, containing more than 70 different blade shapes (blade lengths from 6 to 36 cm), stands out for ease of use and is the right tool for every home cook and professional. Single-piece forged stainless (X50CrMoV15) steel blade, 58 HRC hardness, 29° edge angle. This special, high-carbon, corrosion-resistant alloy ensures that the critical properties of every Wüsthof knife are retained from the outset: razor-sharp, long-lasting cutting edge, high rust resistance, easily restored edge. Made in 55 refined production steps, from forging through hardening and sharpening to polishing; every perfectly made Classic knife passes more than 20 uncompromising quality control checks. Particularly sharp thanks to the laser-controlled Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) sharpening process. The final hand finishing by Wüsthof's experienced specialists provides extraordinary sharpness and quick, easy cutting.
Comfortable, durable handle panels made of synthetic polyoxymethylene (POM), which has a denser molecular structure to resist fading and discolouration. The full bolster protects the hand, providing safety and balanced weight distribution. The robust handle panels are triple-riveted for durability.
Wüsthof technology offers outstanding sharpness: extremely high initial cutting performance, exceptionally long edge retention, long blade life, an optimal cutting edge along the full length of the blade, and consistently high, reproducible quality.
The Wüsthof Classic series is NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certified for public health and food safety.
• Hand guard – The ergonomic knife handle fits well in the hand, and the curved end of the handle prevents slipping. The robust handle panels are secured with stainless steel rivets.
• Full tang – The blade runs through the entire handle, ensuring reliable stability. It also acts as a counterweight, balancing the blade.
• Precision double-serrated edge – The bread knife with a unique double-serrated edge cuts hard crusts as easily as soft bread or large fruits such as pumpkin. The difference compared with traditional serrated edges is immediately noticeable.
• Full bolster – The full finger guard reliably protects the fingers during everyday cooking, and the balance makes for quick and precise work.
• Fluted blade – Small air pockets form in the blade's hollows when cutting. The positive effect is that thin or soft foods are easier to remove from the blade during use and do not stick.
• Butcher knife – The distinctive new knife is perfect for portioning meat and effortlessly cuts large fruits and vegetables. This specially designed model is an exceptionally artistic creation in forged steel.
