Wüsthof Classic series
Robust, sharp and functional – the classic kitchen knife series, with more than 70 different blade shapes (6–36 cm blade lengths), stands out for its ease of use and is the right tool for every home cook and professional. Blade forged from a single piece of stainless steel (X50CrMoV15), 58 HRC hardness, 29° edge angle. This special high-carbon, corrosion-resistant alloy ensures that the key properties of every Wüsthof knife are present from the start: razor-sharp, long-lasting cutting edge, high rust resistance, easily restored edge. They are made in 55 refined production steps: from forging through hardening and sharpening to polishing, and every perfectly made Classic knife passes more than 20 uncompromising quality control points. The Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) laser-controlled sharpening process makes it especially sharp. The final work, done by hand by experienced Wüsthof specialists, ensures extreme sharpness and fast, easy cutting. They have comfortable and durable synthetic handle panels made of polyoxymethylene (POM), which has a denser molecular structure to resist fading and discolouration. The full bolster protects the hand, ensuring safety and balanced weight distribution. The robust handle panels are triple-riveted for durability.
Wüsthof technology offers outstanding sharpness: extremely high initial cutting performance, exceptionally long edge retention, long blade life, optimal cutting edge along the full length of the blade, and unique, consistently high and reproducible quality.
The Wüsthof Classic series holds the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) public health and food safety certification.
• Hand guard – The ergonomic knife handle fits well in the hand, and the curved handle end prevents slipping. The robust handle panels are secured with stainless steel rivets.
• Full tang – The blade runs through the handle, providing reliable stability. It also acts as a counterweight, ensuring the balance of the blade.
• Precision double-serrated edge – The bread knife with its unique double-serrated edge cuts a hard crust as easily as soft bread, or large fruits such as pumpkin. The difference compared with a conventional serrated edge is immediately noticeable.
• Full bolster – The full finger guard reliably protects fingers during everyday cooking, and the balance makes work quick and precise.
• Fluted blade – Small air pockets form in the recesses of the blade during cutting. This means thin or soft foods are easier to remove from the blade during use and do not stick.
• Butcher's knife – The distinctive new knife is perfectly suited to portioning meat and cuts large fruits and vegetables effortlessly. This specially designed model is an extremely artistic creation made of forged steel.
