The Endura 4 Titanium Damascus is one of Spyderco's most popular design awards, as it expresses the craftsmanship of the old world through an impressive combination of the most modern materials. The blade with its breathtaking damascus cladding is made of D.P.S. 15, a unique blade steel manufactured by Takefu Special Steel Company, Ltd. in Japan. It consists of a VG-10 stainless steel core placed between two outer layers of damascus steel. Each damascus layer consists of 15 forged and welded steel layers, beautifully patterned and etched to reveal the details of the structure. Complementing the dramatic 31-layer blade, the handle scales are made of state-of-the-art 6AL-4V titanium. Precision machined and finished with a beautiful grey bead-blasted surface, the scales are supported by a stainless steel spacer, and the blade is secured by a high-strength back lock mechanism. The parts are assembled with precision stainless steel Torx screws and finished by hand. A further special feature is the stainless steel liner in the lanyard hole and a polished stainless steel pocket clip that can be configured for tip-up or tip-down carry, left or right side.
