The original Manix 2 Lightweight was the winner of Blade Magazine's award for most innovative American design. It combined the full cutting performance of the popular Manix 2 with a revolutionary new lightweight handle moulded from hard FRCP (glass-fibre-reinforced copolymer). The Manix 2 Lightweight variant is identical to the award-winning knife, except for the handle colour.
The Manix 2 Black Lightweight weighs 85 g and has a straight-edged CTS-BD1N stainless steel blade, as well as the thumb hole that serves as Spyderco's trademark, allowing simple one-handed opening for both hands. The blade is held by a high-strength ball bearing lock, housed in the precision-machined steel insert of the handle. The durable FRCP handle features a moulded Bi-Directional Texture pattern, which ensures a secure grip even in the most demanding environments. A reversible wire pocket clip allows carry on the left or right, making the knife fully suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
