The Spyderco Police Model was developed in the early 1980s at the request of law enforcement officers who wanted a thin, easy-to-carry pocket knife with serious cutting performance. The result was the Police Model, one of the most durable and iconic pocket knives ever made.
The classic version of the Police Model has a satin-finished stainless steel handle with rounded edges for maximum comfort during use. This handle structure provides a solid foundation for the knife's strong back lock mechanism, which has a Boye Dent feature to prevent accidental release during use. The VG-10 stainless steel blade is hollow ground.
PlainEdge, SpyderEdge and CombinationEdge models were made; the Police Model blade includes the trademark Round Hole opening hole for fast, reliable one-handed opening. The hourglass-shaped belt clip, which can be placed in four positions, completes the package, supporting tip-up or tip-down carry on both sides of the body, comfortable for both right- and left-handed users.
