Wüsthof Classic series
Robust, sharp and functional – the classic kitchen tool series, which includes more than 70 different blade shapes (blade lengths from 6 to 36 cm), stands out for ease of use, and is the right tool for every home cook and professional.
Single-piece forged stainless (X50CrMoV15) steel blade with 58 HRC hardness and a 29° edge angle. This special, high-carbon, corrosion-resistant alloy ensures that all the critical properties of every Wüsthof knife are retained from the outset: razor-sharp, long-lasting cutting edge, high rust resistance and an easily restored edge. Made in 55 refined production steps, from forging through hardening and sharpening to polishing, and every perfectly made Classic knife passes more than 20 uncompromising quality control points. Particularly sharp thanks to the Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) laser-controlled sharpening process. The final hand finishing by Wüsthof's experienced specialists provides extraordinary sharpness and quick, effortless cutting.
Comfortable and durable synthetic handle panels made of polyoxymethylene (POM), which has a denser molecular structure to resist fading and discolouration. The full bolster protects the hand and ensures safety and balanced weight distribution. The robust handle panels are triple-riveted for durability.
Wüsthof technology offers outstanding sharpness: extremely high initial cutting performance, exceptionally long edge retention, long blade life, an optimal cutting edge along the full length of the blade, and a unique, consistently high and reproducible quality.
The Wüsthof Classic series holds NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) certification for public health and food safety.
• Hand guard – the ergonomic knife handle fits well in the hand, and the curved end of the handle prevents slipping. The robust handle panels are secured with stainless steel rivets.
• Full tang – the blade runs through the handle, providing reliable stability. It also acts as a counterweight, balancing the knife.
• Precision double-serrated edge – the bread knife with its unique double-serrated edge cuts hard crust as easily as soft bread, or large fruits such as pumpkin. The difference compared with a traditional serrated edge is immediately noticeable.
• Full bolster – the full finger guard reliably protects the fingers during everyday cooking, and the balance makes work quick and precise.
• Fluted blade – small air pockets form in the recesses of the blade when cutting. The positive effect is that thin or soft foods are more easily released from the blade during use and do not stick to it.
• Butcher's knife – this distinctive new knife is perfectly suited to portioning meat and effortlessly cuts large fruits and vegetables. This specially designed model is an extremely artistic creation in forged steel.
