Wüsthof Ikon series
Forged luxury. Every knife has a unique pattern. Sharp blade and premium wood.
With their special features, Ikon series knives make the kitchen a celebration. The handle, made from selected (sustainably grown) African grenadilla wood (Dalbergia melanoxylon), is permanently riveted and striking, and each piece has a unique pattern. The special wood is water-resistant and hygienic, which makes it particularly suitable for kitchen use. At the same time, the handle feels natural and pleasantly warm to the touch and has an ergonomic shape that is a pleasure to hold and use. The unique geometry with a double bolster sits well in the hand, guarantees optimal balance and ensures even cutting, even over longer periods. Thanks to the half bolster, the knife is lighter, which allows energy-efficient work. The design also allows full use and sharpening of the entire blade. The blade is forged from a single piece of high-quality stainless X50CrMoV15 steel, with a 29° edge angle, and is characterised by high robustness and durability. The blade runs through the full length of the handle (full tang). Final hand finishing by Wüsthof's experienced specialists delivers extraordinary sharpness and quick, easy cutting.
• Dual grip geometry – Balance and ergonomics – the special geometry with a double bolster ensures balanced handling. The knife therefore sits well in the hand and guarantees even cutting.
• Half bolster – Thanks to the slimmer support structure of the knife, it is lighter in weight. This allows energy-efficient work. The design also allows full use and resharpening of the entire blade.
• Paring knife – The practical knife with a short, curved cutting edge is particularly useful for peeling and cleaning round fruit and vegetables. Valuable vitamins remain intact thanks to the precision blade, which reduces food waste.
• Handle – The African grenadilla wood handle scales are permanently riveted and assembled without gaps. The water-resistant wood is extremely hygienic and comes from controlled cultivation.
• Fluted blade – When cutting, small air pockets form in the blade's hollows. This means thin or soft foods can be removed from the blade more easily during use and do not stick to it.
• Precision double-serrated edge – The bread knife with its unique double-serrated edge cuts through a hard crust as easily as soft bread, or large fruit such as pumpkin. The difference compared with traditional serrated edges is immediately noticeable.
Dishwasher use is not recommended.
