Think of the chef's knife as the hero of your kitchen – an all-rounder in food preparation that supports the widest range of kitchen tasks. A great chef's knife makes slicing and dicing a pleasure; this is one of the reasons it is often the most used and most important kitchen tool for both home cooks and professional chefs. The Classic series has been Wüsthof's best-selling collection for generations: its blades are precision-forged from a single piece of Wüsthof steel hardened to 58 Rockwell, the handles use stainless steel rivets for extra durability, and a full bolster ensures optimal balance and safety. The Wüsthof Classic chef's knife is the ideal addition to any kitchen.
Ideal for cutting cabbage, fish, fruit, herbs, meat and vegetables.
Wüsthof Classic series
Robust, sharp and functional – the classic kitchen tool series, which contains more than 70 different blade shapes (6–36 cm blade lengths), stands out for its ease of use and is the right tool for every home cook and professional. Single-piece forged stainless (X50CrMoV15) steel blade, 58 HRC hardness, with a 29° edge angle. This special, high-carbon, corrosion-resistant alloy ensures that the critical properties of every Wüsthof knife are preserved from the outset: razor-sharp, long-lasting cutting edge, high rust resistance, easily restorable edge. Made in 55 sophisticated manufacturing steps: from forging through hardening and sharpening to polishing, and every perfectly made Classic knife passes more than 20 uncompromising quality control checkpoints. Particularly sharp thanks to the Precision Edge Technology (PEtec) laser-guided sharpening process. The final hand-finishing by Wüsthof's experienced specialists provides exceptional sharpness and fast, easy cutting. Comfortable and durable synthetic handle panels made of polyoxymethylene (POM), which has a denser molecular structure to resist fading and discolouration. The full bolster protects the hand, ensuring safety and balanced weight distribution. The sturdy handle panels are triple-riveted for durability.
Wüsthof technology offers outstanding sharpness: extremely high initial cutting performance, exceptionally long edge retention, long blade life, optimal cutting edge along the entire blade length, and unique, consistently high and reproducible quality.
The Wüsthof Classic series holds the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) public health and food safety certification.
• Hand guard – The ergonomic knife handle fits well in the hand, and the curved end of the handle prevents slipping. The sturdy handle panels are fixed with stainless steel rivets.
• Full tang – The blade runs through the handle, providing reliable stability for the knife. It also acts as a counterweight, balancing the blade.
• Precision double-serrated edge – The bread knife with its unique double-serrated edge cuts hard crusts as easily as soft bread, or large fruit such as pumpkin. The difference compared with a traditional serrated edge is immediately noticeable.
• Full bolster – The full finger guard reliably protects the fingers during everyday cooking, and the balance makes for quick and precise work.
• Ribbed blade – During cutting, small air pockets form in the blade's hollows. This means thin or soft foods can be removed from the blade more easily during use and do not stick.
• Butcher's knife – This distinctive new knife is perfect for portioning meat, and effortlessly cuts large fruit and vegetables. This specially designed model is an extremely artistic creation in forged steel.
